Functional Analysis of Behaviour/ Positive Behaviour Support Plan
Direct observation and assessment will assist in understanding the purpose of your child's behaviours. Children with ASD often exhibit non-functional or self-stimulatory behaviours. A plan will be designed for the whole family to assist your child to modify these non-desirable behaviours in an supportive manner. The plan will include strategies for prevention and response.
A comprehensive behaviour support plan will cost between $500-$1000.

Development of Intensive Early Intervention Home-based Programmes
Typical intervention programmes include activities for skill development; including adaptive skills (self-help), communication skills (speech and receptive language), social skills, and motor skills (play skills). Intervention programmes for younger children not yet in pre-school or school, a programme designed to focus on pre-requisite skills for life-long learning can be developed.
Programs can be intensive (e.g., discrete trial training), focus on specific areas of skill difficulty (e.g., pivotal response training or social skills programming), or perhaps you would like a daily programme to
support the child's school curriculum (e.g., focusing on comprehension, memory, and communication skills). I encourage parents to attend at least one workshop and participate in some of the therapy.
A comprehensive early intervention programme will cost between $500-$1000.
Depending on your families' needs, I can personally conduct a regular weekly (ABA or CBT) therapy session with your child, or follow-up on a home-based programme with a 3-monthly or 6-monthly assessment to check on your child's progress.
A monthly fee is
charged for programme review and

Family counselling or advocacy support
Raising a child with an autism spectrum disorder is a challenging full-time commitment. At times the whole family can seem to be "in crisis" in response to the child with autism's challenging behaviour, or simply because of the ongoing stress wearing everyone down.
As a qualified psychologist, I am trained to provide clinical and counselling support to individuals. ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and CBT (cognitive Behaviour Therapy) are both evidence-based therapeutic techniques which really help individuals and families learn new skills to deal with anxiety and restore calm in the home.
I am happy to assist families to prepare for IEP meeting or school re-entry meeting (post-suspension). I may also be available to attend these meetings with the parents if extra advocacy is required.

Fees
To assist families to stay within a budget and minimise the costs associated with providing (ongoing) support for their children with autism spectrum disorder, I have set my hourly fee below APS recommendations.

My hourly fee is $150.00 per hour. All services mentioned above are quoted at this rate.
Medicare rebates are available (I am a registered Medicare provider for 'General Psychological Services').
Private medical insurance rebates may also apply for psychological services.
